@ aenys : complètement faux. J’espère que c’est de l’ignorance. Première cible envisagée : Kyoto ! Importance historique nulle d’Hiroshima et Nagasaki ? A peu près autant que celle de Naples ou de Marseille, c’est dire. Hiroshima était une ville d’importance militaire mineure (logistique et soutien).

Allez un petit détail marrant :

"The Japanese had, in fact, already sued for peace. The atomic bomb played no decisive part, from a purely military point of view, in the defeat of Japan." Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.[68]
"The use of [the atomic bombs] at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender." Admiral William D. Leahy, Chief of Staff to President Truman.[68]
