Pierre Marie Baty, vous vous trompez. Le Tibet n’a jamais « appartenu » à la Chine, mais il a toujours été convoité par elle. De plus, dire que le Tibet n’a jamais été indépendant depuis pas loin d’un millénaire, c’est tout simplement faux ! Relisez votre histoire du Tibet.

Quant au protectorat consenti, je suis sûre que vous n’ignorez pas que le Dalai Lama n’était même pas présent au moment de la signature de l’accord en 17 points, car à l’époque il ne gouvernait pas encore officiellement le pays, c’était son régent, ou je ne sais pas comment se nommait cette personne, qui s’en chargeait.
Il le raconte lui-même dans son autobiographie. il avait l’habitude d’écouter la radio, lorsqu’un soir le programme fut différent :

« A harsh, crackling voice announced that a Seventeen-Point ’Agreement’ for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet had that day been signed by representatives of the Government of the People’s Republic of China and what they called the ’Local Government’ of Tibet.
