BEIRUT : Hizbullah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Elias Murr held a meeting Friday to discuss the means of cooperation between the army and the resistance to defend Lebanon. In a statement, Murr said discussions focused on the role of the army and complementarity between the army and the resistance.

« The army supports the resistance and the resistance is an integral part of the people, the country and the army, » he said. Murr and Nasrallah also discussed the economic and social status of the country and the measures the government could adopt to settle the file.

Nasrallah also met with the Free Patriotic Movement official Gebran Bassil. Bassil is paving the way for a possible meeting expected to be held between the cleric and the FPM leader MP Michel Aoun before the national dialogue conference resumes on April 28.
