Dear Elias,

Once again, thank you for such an insightful letter. You are 100% correct in your observations about Falwell and Robertson, both of whom are ’off their rockers’ and a total embarassment to the entire population. They do not speak for most Christians, but only for themselves, and they are peculiarly paranoid in their insanity.

The murderer you spoke of also does not represent Christians,- he is a psychopath and killer.

I think you will agree that in general the Muslims of the Middle East have a different frame of reference when it comes to how they treat women ,and to acts such as beheading, using human beings as shields, kidnappings, etc. This is so onbvious we need not engage in a discussion.

Like you, I am also Catholic, and I support the position of the Church vis a vis immigration issues, but I do not support their ban on contraception. I am a pick-and-choose Catholic I suppose in that some issues I support and others I disagree with.

I will not be online again until this evening as I must travel today, but I look forward to receiving your ideas. You are obviously very bright and well informed and I learned a great deal from your letters yesterday.(I try to listen, and to learn,— I do not go online to convert anyone to my philosophy !)
