@ADEL.
:
Schrödinger’s and Dirac’s Unorthodoxy in Quantum MechanicsMICHELANGELO DE MARIA, FRANCESCO LA TEANA
20 pages, Fundamenta Scientiae, Vol. 3, No. 2, pp. 129-148, 1982.
Quelques

On
the other hand, Heisenberg, in an article published in 1955, retracing
the history of the development of the interpretation of QM, summarized
the position of the « orthodox » physicists on the question of "objective
reality" in physics as follows :
« The criticism of the Copenhagen
interpretation rests quite generally on the anxiety that, with this
interpretation, the concept of « objective reality »... might be driven
out of physics... If we attempt to penetrate behind this reality into
the details of atomic events, the contours of this « objectively real »
world dissolve — net in the mist of a new and yet unclear idea of
reality, but in the transparent clarity of a mathematics whose laws
govern the possible and not the actual... The idealistic argument that
certain ideas are a priori ideas, i.e. in particular come before all
natural science, is here correct. The ontology of materialism rested
upon the illusion that the kind of existence, the direct « actuality »
of the world around us, can be extrapolated into the atomic range. This
extrapolation, however, is impossible »93.
In the same article Heisenberg
reconstructed the Solvay Conference following the logic of the "
victors " who are allowed to modify history as much as it suits them
: he did not even mention Schrödinger’s or de Broglie’s opposing
lectures nor the bitter discussion that took place. He simply asserted
that on that occasion the « orthodox » interpretation received "its
crucial test", and concluded :
« Since the Solvay Conference of 1927,
the Copenhagen interpretation has been fairly generally accepted and has
formed the basis of all practical applications of quantum theory »94.
