Dear Claire,

Thank you for your kind words of support.

I will be passing the bar exam in september (so I’ll have plenty of time to work hard during the summer).

Please bear in mind that France is not as sheltered from the rest of the world as the US may be. We are anxious about the brutal changes of today’s economic and politic situation, and rightly so.

French society is becoming wary of everything, because we have much to lose from these changes. French society is indeed becoming more brutal, and people more egoistic. A little bit like if the end of the world was coming and everybody knew about it.

But do not think that we do not like Americans. It is simply not true. Like any other people (americans included), we tend to point our fingers at every hearts but our own. Nobody likes lessons givers, especially us. Hence the strong reactions on Agoravox.

But then I think that everybody needs a wake up call sometimes.

Have a nice time in France.

Yours,

Elias
