 le New york times, un bel hommage. on y révèle l’origine de son nom de scène :
"In London, he was persuaded by his agent to use a snappier name. Spotting a Martin guitar in the corner of the agent’s office, he altered one letter and dubbed himself John Martyn".

et dommage, il ne le fera pas : "But he was most excited about a recording project he had just begun, Mr. Tullio said : an album with his hero, Pharoah Sanders."

pour mémoire, Pharoah Sanders est un... jazzman, selon certains l’inventeur de "l’ethno-jazz". Imaginez ce que ça aurait donné... 
... re-merde.
