All seven charges regarding the former head of the International Monetary
Fund’s alleged assault of Nafissatou Diallo are set to be dismissed in a
hearing on Tuesday at New York supreme court.
Miss Diallo, 33, maintains Mr Strauss-Kahn, 62, tried to rape her, before
forcing her to perform a sex act, when she arrived to clean his room at the
Sofitel on May 14.
But she was told by Manhattan prosecutors at a 30-second meeting last night :
“We’re going to dismiss the case. You have lied to us repeatedly. We can’t
win”.
In a court filing, prosecutors said DNA evidence confirmed there had been a
sexual act between the pair, and that this still appeared "consistent with a
non-consensual encounter"
